Reviews
Overall pretty solid, the pork chashu is one of the better ones I have had in the US, tender, good balance of fat and lean, the rice in the bowl was a bit dry, good sauce. The sushi rolls were big, perfect sushi rice, fresh ingredients but the sauce on the G Spot Roll was way too strong.
Finally the Ramen, the noodles are perfect, right level of chew and the thickness that I like, but the soup base is very strange. My miso broth didn't taste like miso, but just a thick pork bone soup, I tried the spicy version, basically taste the same with some spices. I was also disappointed with the egg, yellow yolk? Using the US Ramen standard, this is not bad. It just reminded us that this is not LA.
The service was super fast, 2 waitresses, 2 floors and bar counter, everything came up in 10 mins. There is a good alcohol selection as well.
The ramen was okay. Not near as spicy as one would like but there was a decent flavor profile. The takoyaki was pretty good, though a little soft for my liking, but again, the flavor was very nice.
One complaint was the music was a little loud. For a casual dining spot, it felt more like they wanted me to drop it low on the club at 1:30am on a Friday night.
It might not be the best Japanese restaurant, but the food tastes good. Ramen was good with lots of meat. Tempura was far from being authentic but was still tasty. The Uber Eats order was delivered quickly.
We had a really great experience & will definitely be back! My husband ordered California roll & deep fried Philadelphia roll and loved them. We ordered the Deluxe Ramen & Roasted garlic deluxe. The best ramen I have ever had, highly recommend! Our little girls devoured their ramen. Take your family!
We went to get ramen and ended up sampling many dishes that all exceed expectations. From walking in the door and being greeted by the entire staff, fresh and beyond tasty food, to the many "thank yous" when we were leaving, made for an unexpected, wonderful dining experience. Thank you, and we will definitely be back!!
What an amazing experience every time! The ambiance & environment transport you from Hillcrest to another world. The Team & the quality of service is second to none, I feel right at home every time I come in. The food is high quality, perfectly priced to enjoy your evening or a date night without breaking the bank!
Service is great! Atmosphere is modern Japanese industrial. Food is delicious! The jalapeno poppers were light and delicious. The chicken was juicy and crispy very good. The ramen was fulfilling and delicious. However, the egg didn't taste like it was marinated. Parking is street only. Definitely want to come back here again
Fantastic ramen! All the broth bases were wonderful, and the chashu was melt in your mouth! Also adored the karage... Super juicy and crisp. The pickled ginger with the sushi rolls was the best I've ever had.
